Excellent deli, decent market. Selection is a wee bit small, but not bad, and prices are also good. Managed to convince them to sell me one of their sandwich breads... absolutely amazing. There are not *words* to describe the sheer goodness of this bread.

Had skippack market cater my daughters bridal shower. Food was awesome and Chris was terrific. I gave him a list of her favorite foods including southern green beans and pecan pie and he brought it all. The ham and chix salad was especially terrific!

So I've lived in skippack my whole life. I've always thought this place was just a place to pick up meats and stuff. My boyfriend and I were gonna stop here to do so until we looked it up on yelp and saw they had sandwiches and had 5 stars so we HAD to try it. IM SO GLAD WE DID! First of all, the smell when you walk in, OH MY GOD! I knew I was in for a delicious meal. I got the old fashioned and my boyfriend got a chicken parm sandwich. Everything was SO fresh. And the bread is fantastic!! The food takes a little while so if you're looking for something quick I don't recommend this place. But what food that is fresh comes quick? It's so worth the wait! I highly re comment this place for hoagies/sandwiches! I will definitely be back whenever I'm looking to grab a sandwich or fresh Italian food

Read all the other reviews, they say it all. This place should be called hoagie Mecca...everyone should make pilgrimage there. Real fresh bread, high quality meats and cheeses, and the abruzzi spread!

Just to update. This place is still great. Their Consiglier with long hots may be the best hoagie I've ever had. Friendly service and good food.

Wow!! Great find. Wonderful Italian hot or cold subs. Very large subs and the sub roll is fantastic. Super friendly folks and great Tiramisu. Can eat in if you like. Will definitely go back.

Everything was dynamite! We got two sandwiches, soup, a cannoli and espresso. Staff was more than friendly and the place was clean. I would eat here again and again.

***If you are a Sandwich Connoisseur.. stop what you're doing, set your GPS and head to Skippack** Yeah its that good! Finding the Italian Market was like stumbling on a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Its not often I find a new deli that makes it on to my top 3 list for best sandwiches but this place did. I had the special sandwich of the day: Turkey, Soppresatta, Sharp Provolone, lettuce, tomato and roasted red peppers. The bread was awesome and the sandwich was huge. The special came with a small cannoli and a cup of soup. We took a dozen large cannoli's to go and they were darn good. Make sure you check this place out.

Great food and great conversation. I was in very early and the owner made me feel right at home. If your using a gps it'll take you into a residential neighborhood. Use your geosense and don't fall for it.

Visited about 2 weeks ago after surfing Yelp for nearby places. We got the godfather, the roast pork and a veggie. All were excellent!

I was here once in 2007. I don't think I've had a better Italian hoagie since. I married an Italian. What was I thinking? The yelling... The biting. Maybe I was looking for my mother in my wife. I hear that's normal. You know what isn't normal? My heart size. Doctor says it's too small. I said "Doc, if it's too small why do I cry when I watch the news?"

Great deli in Skippack. Their rolls and fillings are top quality. Check out their party platters such as roast beef and gravy.

Got take out here to bring to a friend's house - AWESOME!!! The vegetarian hoagie is to die for. So is the chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe. I also picked up their spicy provolone cheese spread which they make there - incredible - along with some hot soppresatta. I will definitely go back when I am in the area again!!!

We discovered this place by accident. We had the roast beef sandwich specials and meatball sandwiches which were most tastey. Meat and the bread were fresh even though it was near closing time. We will definitely make a return trip.

This place is fantastic! My niece participated in a cheerleading competition nearby and we needed a place for lunch. Yelp never fails us! Everyone's reviews were spot on! We all enjoyed our hoagies, pasta salad, chips drinks and peanut butter cookies outside on their picnic tables. We even got delicious treats from the bakery to take home! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and the staff was extremely friendly!

Amazing turkey abbruzzi hoagie. First time there. I live 30 min away and will def do the drive to come back again. The sharp provolone was a great addition to the abbruzzi spread.

Go for the aged provolone, stay for.... everything else. From cappicola to cutlet, sweet roasted peppers to fresh baked rolls, pulled pork to meatballs. Ohhhhh the meatballs, they honestly leave me speechless. My father has dreams about the blue cheese potato salad. My boyfriend fancies the roasted hots. 4 words: you can't go wrong. I'm not sure whether it's to my advantage or not that I live and work so close to this place. It's impossible to stay away. I've had them cater three corporate events, and the rave reviews simply don't end. Words for the wise: you get what you pay for, in quantity and quality.

I've been coming here for the "Old Fashioned" hoagie for years, although I no longer live/work in the immediate area. The provolone, as others have mentioned, boosts this otherwise great sandwich into perfection. I currently make a 70-mile round trip scenic drive just to have lunch here now and then.

This is the best Italian Market I've ever been to! We go here especially in the summers to enjoy their hoagies outdoors. They have really nice seating in the back, though only 3 tables, away from the Village traffic and noise. Their provolone is to die for and the hoagies that they offer is like a tasteful curse where you keep tasting it after the hoagie is long gone and you just crave for more. Their Turkey Abbruzzi and Veggie Hoagies are my favorite, though I have also fallen for their Consiglier more than once! It's a very casual family environment with extremely friendly owners and workers behind the deli counter! Make sure to get a taste of their available desserts while you're there. You will not be disappointed. And to note, their hoagies are huge! When there for lunch we'll usually buy 1 and share then we'll have enough room for one of their amazing desserts!

Fantastic Italian hoagies! 9th Streeter: Perfect...hoagie bread is awesome/prosciutto was sliced very thin/I had hot and sweet roasted red peppers and they were fresh not from a jar/fresh creamy mozzarella...size of hoagie and freshness of ingredients was well worth the price. Veggie: again, fresh ingredients...fried eggplant (also can have it with marinated eggplant), artichoke, roasted red peppers, come with red onions but I didn't have them added, fresh mozzarella...excellent hoagie...loved it! They also have roast pork, meatball and chicken cutlet hot hoagies...I'll try them next time... They have a extra room where you can sit and eat in. The extra room is very nice, clean, has a TV. Definitely worth the trip here for a great hoagie...You won't be disappointed!

Holy sharp provolone! It's rare to find a deli outside of South Philly that uses sharper-than-a-tack provolone in their Italian hoagies, instead most choosing to offer stuff that can range from adequate to downright plasticky, but the Skippack Italian Market is one of those special places with freshly cut super sharp provolone stuffed between the thick, crusty roll. The roasted red peppers here are also a fantastic addition to their italian hoagie and so between the cheese and peppers it should go without saying that the meats are also divine. You can even ditch the roll and get the antipasto salad which is superb with all the cured pork and cheese and home-made balsamic. Both the sandwiches and salads are huge, too, even for my stratospheric appetite. The store is fun to browse while you're waiting for your food; if you're looking for specialty oils, vinegars, cookies, or other random Italian treats, you'll likely find them here. It can be easy to miss while driving on Rt 73, but don't give up.... it'll be worth it.

Ohhh, how I miss you, Skippack Village Italian Market. Home of the BEST vegetarian hoagie I've ever had. If you vegetarians (I'm looking at you, Blake) want to experience a glimpse of what the food in heaven (should such a place actually exist) must taste like, trust me: Make the trek out to Skippack. Of course, their other meat-based hoagies are nothing to sneeze at, but as a former vegetarian who now eats poultry, I still get the veggie hoagie every single time I come here. The base is eggplant, which you can get marinated or fried, on a freshly baked Italian roll (baked in house). Then, they pile on romaine lettuce, roasted red peppers, sharp provolone (I'm talking the real stuff, straight from Italy), and artichoke hearts, and finish it with house dressing and, if you so desire, oil and vinegar. To complete your meal, they have all the fixin's: Dirty's chips (best chips ever), a variety of sodas, Italian pastries and desserts (imported from Milan!), deli pickles, a myriad of pasta and veggie salads... whatever you want, they most likely have. When you're done ordering, why not take your food outside to enjoy at one of their outdoor tables? Also, be sure to check out their grocery items for sale, if you have a little extra money (don't worry, they take credit cards). They have spices, fresh bread, sauces, pastas, marinades, herbs, biscotti, etc. I would have no regrets about eating here every single day of my life. Who cares if there's a heaven when there's the Skippack Italian Market?

Best Italian market in the area. The bread has changed when it got new owners, but the marinated roasted red peppers and red onions, on top of the sharp provolone can't be beat. These hoagies are huge, too. Highly recommended.

Ordered mixed green salad with chicken and got a salad mostly made of iceberg lettuce when we specifically asked for the advertised mixed greens salad. Salad costs about $9-10 dollars. What a dissapontment. I will never order salads from this place ever again. They only put mixed greens on top of salad but the rest on the botttom is all iceberg. What a rip off!

My favorites are The Consiglier with prosciutto, provolone, sweet and roasted peppers or the veggie hoagie. Yum! Delicious cannolis too.

AMAZING! If you like a nice sharp provolone - THIS is the place to go! The rolls are DELICIOUS!!! This whole place is perfect! Quality food, very friendly service and a great atmosphere! A little pricey but very much worth it! And the pickles are SUPER tasty (and HUGE)! If your out and about in Skippack definitely stop in! So far in my opinion its the best place in the village to grab a bite!

Hoagies are amazing! Their bread has a nice taste and texture to it. Meats and cheeses are all quality. Macaroni salad and soup of the day were also great. They offer quite a few Italian specialty dishes and other Italian goods for your cooking needs. Service was great. Super friendly and fast. Looking forward to stopping in again when we move to the area this summer!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
